The National Curry Awards, an esteemed event that began in 2019, aims to celebrate and promote the Asian catering industry in the UK. This year, according to the News Shopper, two London-based restaurants stood out, garnering significant accolades and further solidifying the city’s reputation as a curry capital.

The Lane Restaurant in Wanstead, known for its “fine Indian Cuisine,” clinched the title of ‘Curry Restaurant of the Year.’ Their dishes, infused with the freshest spices and a myriad of flavors, have made them a favorite among locals and visitors. Another notable winner was Asif Iqbal from the Manjal Restaurant Group, who was honored with the ‘Chef of the Year‘ award. Specializing in South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, the Manjal Restaurant Group has consistently delivered dishes that are both authentic and innovative.

A celebration awaits

While the winners have been announced, according to Timeout reports the official awards ceremony is set to take place on October 16 at the historic House of Lords, located within the Palace of Westminster. This grand event will not only honor the winners but will also serve as a gathering of MPs, business leaders in the catering industry, and other esteemed guests.
